Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers and account information, like your name, email, username, and password.
• Profile and wedding content you choose to share: photos, story, timeline, guests, vendors, registry, and messages.
• Audio and voice recordings, when you record or sing in the Music studio.
• AI inputs, such as the prompts, photos, and recordings you submit to our design and music tools.
• Payment information for registry contributions and paid features, handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation and limited transaction details, not your full card number.
• Commercial information, such as subscriptions or paid features for vendors and planners.
• Usage data, such as the pages you visit, features you use, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
• Device information, including browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government IDs or precise geolocation) beyond what is needed to operate the Service, and full payment card numbers are handled by our payment provider rather than stored by us.

We use your information to:

• Operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
• Personalize the feed, suggestions, and search results.
• Generate the output you request from our AI-assisted studios.
• Process registry contributions and any paid features.
• Send you transactional messages and product updates you opt into.
• Investigate abuse and enforce our Terms.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Some Betrothy features use AI: the Music studio (lyrics, vocals, and composition), the Ring and Dress studios, and AI-generated avatars and cover art. When you use them, the inputs you provide (prompts, photos, and voice recordings) are sent to our AI service providers, currently Anthropic, Google, and ElevenLabs, so they can generate the output you asked for. Under our agreements, these providers process your inputs only to deliver the feature and do not use them to train their own models. Please do not submit content you do not have the right to share, or another person's information, likeness, or voice without their consent.

The planning assistant and Trother (our matchmaker) also use AI. The planning assistant works from the wedding and profile details you give it and can search the web to make recommendations. Trother is off until you turn it on; when enabled, it analyzes your connections and the public profile details of people in your extended network to suggest potential partners, and emails you the matches on a schedule you choose. You can turn Trother off, or change its emails, in your settings at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:

• With other users, when you choose to post publicly, message them, or invite them to your wedding.
• With service providers that help us run the Service (cloud hosting and file storage, payment processing, AI providers, error monitoring, and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations and only to perform services for us.
• To process payments: registry contributions and paid features are handled by our payment provider (Stripe), which receives the information needed to complete the transaction.
• For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect users and the public.
• In a business transfer, if Betrothy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and (with your consent) measure how the Service is used. You can manage non-essential cookies at any time through the cookie banner, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, records of registry contributions), or where it exists in backups that age out on a rolling basis.

• Access and update your profile anytime from the settings page.
• Notifications: change which categories reach you and through which channel at Notification settings.
• Delete your accountfrom settings. We'll remove your personal information except where we are required to keep it.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Delete the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
• Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we honor opt-out preference signals (GPC) regardless.

You can access, update, and delete most information directly in settings. For other requests, email admin@betrothy.com from the address on your account. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please keep your account credentials private.

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact admin@betrothy.com.

We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the U.S. Some of our service providers, including our AI and payment providers, may process information in other countries. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to that transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
